shim’s ride 2021
Shim’s Ride 2021 was originally planned to be Kelowna -> Victoria, but the forest fires and smoky conditions forced us to pivot and start in Hope instead of Kelowna. The weather was perfect (significantly cooler than the heatwave in June 2021) and the ride was issue free.
Notable highlights include:
1. Riding along Harrison Lake in the setting sun
2. Chloe and Emma following us along in the Oak Bay Bikes (OBB) van and serving us coffee and treats
3. Breakfast sandwiches at A&W in Port Moody
4. Not flatting on the Boundary Bay Dyke trail on the way to the ferry for the OBB after party
5. Arriving Tulista park to a large group of riders clad in SR 2020 and SR 2021 kit
6. Seeing friends, family, and supporters at the end of the ride at OBB for pizza and refreshments
7. Raising $21,000 for Spinal Cord Injury BC
Thank you to everyone for your support! Looking forward to Shim’s Ride 2022.
